About Soolo
What is Soolo?
Soolo is a technology company based in Norway that delivers IoT-based tank monitoring of tanks and containers. We give you real-time overview of the levels in your tanks – whether it's fuel, AdBlue, gas or other liquids.
Today we deliver the service throughout Scandinavia, with plans to further expand to other European countries. With Soolo you avoid manual measurements, unexpected empty tanks and unnecessary driving. Everything you need is available in a user-friendly portal.
Who is Soolo suitable for?
Soolo is suitable for anyone who has tanks they need to keep track of:
- Fuel suppliers – monitor customer sentiment and plan deliveries smarter
- Contractors and construction workers – know when your diesel tank needs to be refilled
- Farms and agriculture – keep an eye on fuel and gas
- AdBlue suppliers – monitor bulk tanks with transport customers
- Gas suppliers – keep track of customers' propane tanks
How many customers does Soolo have?
We have nearly 200 satisfied customers – everything from large players with hundreds of units to smaller companies with one tank. Today we have approx. 4500 sensors in the field in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Product and technology
How does the solution work?
The solution consists of four parts:
- Sensor – mounted in the tank and measures the level
- Soolo Master – the communication device that sends data to the cloud
- The Soolo portal – where you see all your thoughts in real time
- Service and support – all maintenance, battery replacements and support are included
The sensor measures the level (usually every hour), Soolo Master sends the data via the mobile network, and you see everything in the portal or receive notifications by email/SMS. All this for one fixed monthly price with an unlimited number of users.
What types tanks and liquids are supported?
We support most common tanks and liquids:
- Diesel and gasoline
- Fuel oil
- AdBlue
- Propane/LPG
- Various industrial liquids and chemicals
We have different sensor types adapted to different applications – pressure sensors for liquids and Hall effect sensors for gas.
How accurate are the measurements?
Our sensors provide high accuracy – typically within 1-2% deviation. The actual accuracy depends on the tank shape and calibration. Round tanks gives the best results, while tanks with uneven shape may have slightly larger deviations.
How often are the measurements updated?
The default measurement frequency is once an hour, but this can be adjusted as needed. For most applications, hourly measurement provides a good balance between up-to-date information and battery life.
How long does the battery last?
Soolo Master has a built-in battery with a long lifespan. But in practice you never have to think about it – battery replacements and all service are included in the subscription. The battery is "forever" for you as a customer. It is also possible to connect to external power where desired.
Does it work in areas with poor coverage?
Yes. We use NB-IoT and LTE-M, which are narrowband technologies designed for IoT. These technologies have better indoor coverage and range than regular mobile networks, and work well even in manholes, basements, and remote areas.
Price and subscription
What does it cost?
Soolo is delivered as an all-inclusive subscription. You pay one fixed monthly price per sensor, and the price depends on volume and agreement. Contact us for a quote .

Why subscription instead of purchase?
With a subscription, you avoid a large initial investment. You pay for the value you get, not for equipment that may break. We take the risk – you get the service.
If something stops working, we'll fix it at no extra cost. You'll never have to worry about battery replacements, firmware updates, or repairs.
Is there a commitment period?
Satisfied customers don't need to be tied into years of contracts. That's why Soolo has no strings attached for regular contracts. We believe in delivering such good value that you want to stay – not because you have to.
Can I try before I decide?
Yes!
We offer pilot projects where you can test the solution on a few tanks before you scale up. Contact us and we will find a solution that suits you.
Installation
Who installs the equipment?
It depends on the type of sensor:
- Fuel sensors – installed by our certified partners or our own technicians
- Gas sensors (LPG) – can often be installed by the customer. Simple “plug and play”.
Regardless, we will help you all the way from ordering to the data appearing in the portal.
How long does the installation take?
A typical installation takes 30-60 minutes per tank, depending on tank type and availability. We coordinate the installation to fit your operation.
Does the tank need to be emptied before installation?
No, most installations can be done with liquid in the tank. The sensor is mounted via existing openings or new penetrations, without having to empty the tank.
The portal
What can I do in the portal?
The Soolo portal gives you a full overview:
- See real-time levels on all tanks
- Get alerts when the level is low or high
- See history and consumption trends
- Plan deliveries based on actual needs
- Map view for route planning
- Export data to Excel
- Share access with colleagues and partners
How many users can I have?
Unlimited!
You can create as many users as you want at no extra cost. You control who sees what through groups and access rights.
Can I integrate with other systems?
Yes.
We have an open API that allows you to import tank data into your own systems – such as ERP, route planning or proprietary solutions. API access is included for larger customers.
Is there an app?
The portal is web-based and works just as well on mobile as on PC. You don't need an app – just open your browser and log in. This also means you always have the latest version without having to update anything.

What do I do if something stops working?

Support is included in the subscription.
We actually proactively monitor the sensors and often detect problems before you do. If something needs to be replaced, we'll take care of it at no extra charge.
How quickly will I get help?
We usually respond within the same business day. Critical issues are given the highest priority. You can reach us by phone, email or via the portal.
Is my data secure?
Yes.
All communication is encrypted and data is stored securely in the cloud. We comply with current privacy legislation (GDPR) and never share data with third parties without your consent.
